Cammy's music contest

It's been a long time since CammyFan.com has had a contest! Life's really been too busy to do anything like that. And there are just SO many fans out there, so I get overwhelmed. But I think it's time to have another fanart contest, and I think I have an idea that'll make it not so much work for me...
I love Cammy so much because she's got such a wonderful storyline and personality (and pigtails!), so you can really do so many things with her. Sure she looks great too, but if she just looked good, she'd be nothing more than a Chun Li. Because of her detailed storyline and personality, Cammy can be made to fit into just about an situation or theme, and that's where you can be really creative and have lots of fun!

Anyhow, the theme of this contest will be "music", and this is what inspired it... One of my all-time favorite Cammy pictures called CAM1997 has a quote from a song by Gloria Estefan called "Reach" (I think it was the theme for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta). That picture gave me an idea that I've had a TON of fun with for years. I can't draw worth a damn, and I can't write either, but I've still got a very big imagination! So there's a little game I love to play with Cammy, and that's imagining a fanart picture based on a song. It's a good way to come up with ideas and be creative. It doesn't matter what song it is. It can be one of my favorites, or just something random I hear on the radio.
So all you artists out there... I want you to draw a Cammy picture that was inspired by music. It can be a scene from lyrics that you make to feature Cammy, it can be a picture of Cammy featuring inspirational lyrics (like CAM1997), it can be Cammy made to look like a musician (Elvis?!). Heck, it doesn't even have to be a picture... it can be a song that you write about Cammy, it can be a fanfic or poem, a cosplay, or anything like that! I don't really care too much... just create something cool and somehow tie it to music. BE CREATIVE & HAVE FUN!! * I just demand 1 thing... Be respectful of Cammy!! Please no perverted Hentai pictures or anything stupid like that.

How to submit your entry? Or entries... enter as much as you like!! Please post it at www.DeviantART.com and include something about "CammyFan" with your post (title, keyword, comment). That way I'll be able to keyword search "CammyFan" and find all the entries. Deadline is Feb 6, 2007!! It's very easy and free to sign up with DeviantART. Prizes? A contest has to have prizes, right? Of course! I've got a buncha Cammy stuff here that I'll send to the winner or winners (no matter where you live in the world, and it's 100% free to you). 	Cammy model by Yunkiro that comes new in the box! The box is 8x6.5x5.5 inches big. Very cool!!
	SOTA Toys Cammy action figure that comes new in the box. Instead of the normal green suit, this one has a grey/blue/greenish suit. I encourage you to take it out of the box because it's super posable with an extra head, extra hands, and lots of joints. It's no fun in the box!
	The Super Street Fighter 2 Cammy comic by Masahiko Nakahira! Fun story, amazing art, and just all-around great!! You'll read it over and over and always have fun.
	This figure also comes new in the box. It's a Japanese crane game arcade prize from way back in 1999! I made sure to win as many of these as I could LOL. It's about 5 inches tall.

Anyhow, if you're a little unclear about my silly music game and what I want you to do, here are some examples of what I'm talking about...
"What Is And What Should Never Be" by Led Zeppelin The lyrics go: "Take my hand, child, come with me / It's to a castle I will take you / Where what's to be they say will be..." And later on it says "And you will be mine, by taking our time / If you say to me tomorrow / Oh what fun all will be / Then what's to stop us pretty baby / But what is and what should never be..." To me, it sounds almost like the song was written about Cammy and Vega. The lyrics bring to mind the scene when Vega (aka M. Bison) first met Cammy after she'd been kidnapped (and before Shadowloo started experimenting on her). I picture a scared little Cammy looking up at a smiling Vega who is reaching out to her and saying "Take my hand, child, come with me...". What a creepy scene! But, it's what I imagine was one of the most important moments of Cammy's life.
"Hotel Illness" by the Black Crowes There are 2 lines saying "The scars I hide are none your business. I can't seem to make hair nor hide of this...". That conjured to mind an image of Cammy in front of a mirror in a hotel room. Cammy's looking into the mirror and one hand is touching the scar on her left cheek. She's obviously wondering about her past. Behind Cammy, there's a window, and you can see the hotel sign, and it says "Hotel Illness". And sitting atop the sign is a black crow. Okay, so that's a bit complicated, but I think it would be an interesting picture, right? Or maybe instead of 1 picture, you could make a comic page.
"Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent A legendary rock song! You might not know it by name, but I bet you'd recognize the opening guitar riff. This one's simple... just make a picture of Cammy applying a chokehold to somebody? Cammy's a fighter, and there aren't nearly enough action fanart pictures of fighting game characters!! You could just title is "stranglehold", or if you wanna get creative, include some lyrics, or make Ted Nugent the referee in a wrestling match LOL
"The Sky is Crying" by Stevie Ray Vaughan This is one of my favorite blues songs! The picture doesn't have to be all that special... you could just have a gloomy Cammy with an umbrella walking down the streets of London in the rain. In the background you could have a vintage record store with an add for a Stevie Ray Vaughan album in the window, or a music shop with an old guitar in the window (it would be Stevie's worn-out old No. 1 guitar with the SRV stickers on it).
"Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon It goes like this... "I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand / Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain / He was looking for the place called (Mi Ho Fuks??) / Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mien". Of course this would make a great picture for Gallon (aka Jon Talbain) from Darkstalkers. Just draw the picture exactly as the song describes... Gallon walking in Soho (London, not Manhattan) with a Chinese menu in his had (menu has the restaurant name written on it, and he's got a little thought bubble with a picture of beef chow mien). What does this have to do with Cammy? Ummm... I dunno... you could have him asking Cammy for directions? Cammy could be pointing down the street or something. Like I said, I'm not picky. Be creative!
"Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen A picture of Cammy winning a street fight would be cool. You could have Cammy finishing off Chun Li with a Cannon Spike or something along those lines. You could also make a montage of Cammy winning fights with different moves... Cannon Spike Chun Li, Frankenstiener Dee Jay, Cannon Drill Blanka, German Suplex Zangief, etc. Write "Another One Bites the Dust" at the top of the picture kinda like a title?
"A Vulgar Display of Power" by Pantera It's the name of an album, not a song. One of the greatest albums of all time in my opinion! You could draw a picture of Cammy doing her Spin Drive Smasher from X-Men vs Street Fighter because all the super moves from that game are over-the-top with energy and stuff. BTW, that's a quote from the Exorcist. The priest asks the possessed girl something like "If you're the Devil, and you're so powerful, why don't you just break free and kill us?" and she replies "Because that would be a vulgar display of power."
Cammy as Willie Nelson Willie Nelson is and legendary country singer known for his pigtails. Maybe this year Cammy decides to be Willie Nelson for Halloween?! ROFLMAO!
Dancing Queen Isn't there a famous disco song called "Dancing Queen" or something like that? Take Cammy back to the 1970s and draw her in the disco.
Favorite album cover Put Cammy into your favorite album cover. For example, have Delta Red take the place of the Beatles in the Abbey Road cover. Or make up an album cover for Cammy's album.
Random idea #1 Let's say you're a big fan of Megadeth or somebody like that... you could draw a picture of a signed Polaroid picture of Cammy with Dave Mustaine backstage at a show or something. The signature could say something like "Rock on Cammy! - Dave" I don't know. Be creative, and you can make just about anything work!
Random idea #2 If you're a big fan of the SF gals trio of Cammy, Chun Li, & Sakura, you could dress them up as somebody like old school Run DMC with the suits, gold chains, and Adidas sneakers. Or turn Delta Red or Cammy & your favorite SF characters into a band. If you're deaf and you've never heard a song, you can always make something revolving around the fashion of music.
Random idea #3 Can you somehow create a 4 ko manga about music? That would be cool!
